Vikram Solar commissions 200 MW PV plant in India

Indian module manufacturer and solar EPC player Vikram Solar Pvt Ltd has commissioned a 200-MW solar power plant in the state of Andhra Pradesh for Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APPGENCO).

Located in the district of Ananthapuramu, the PV facility is split into two 100-MW blocks for better management and higher efficiency. The solar farm should be able to power nearly 150,000 homes, the company said.

Covering an area of 1,000 acres, the PV plant consists of 848,680 modules, with capacities ranging from 320Wp -330Wp. It is expected to produce 446 million kWh annually. Offsetting some 210 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year. Vikram Solar is also in charge, for 5 year period, of the plant operation and maintenance.

In addition to building plants, the company is also engaged in production of solar PV modules, with a total annual production capacity of about 1 GW.
