The Delhi Vidhan Sabha complex in north Delhis Civil Lines turned green on Monday due to the installation of a 100 KW solar power plant.
According to the officials, the solar photo voltaic plant which is been installed at a cost of 7.35 lakh, will meet 25 % of Delhi Legislative Assembly buildings peak power demand and will help in reducing the power bill of 10 lakh per year.
The solar power project was inaugurated by State Power Minister Satyendar Jain. Speaker Ram Vilas Goel and several Ministers were present in the event. According to the officials, the solar plant has the life span of 25 years. Goel also stated that the assembly building will have one more plant of the same capacity soon.
Jain also inaugurated a rainwater harvesting system in the assembly complex. This project is built with the cost of Rs 36 lakh, having installed 5 pots, with a collective capacity of 4.4 lakh liters within the complex.
